George V Walnut Government /Ministry Library Table/Desk
Circa 1920, A George V government/ministry library table/desk, with remnants of its original distressed brown paint worn with time, revealing an attractive walnut grain, a rare example to find a desk of this type made of walnut and decorative baluster turned legs, perhaps an earlier example than the straight legged oak versions, or made for a higher ranking employee. It has 3 deep useful drawers, original brass hand pulls, with newly fitted tan leather skiver. The desk has had its paint refreshed and waxed and polished to protect the wood and enhance its worn patina.
